ABOUT

I’m an activator. Strategic thinker. And some say I talk too much. 15 years in business. 13 years in marriage. 6 years as dad. I plan to spend my life helping people.

I’ve been blissfully self-employed for over 15 years now, operating CROSSGRAIN – a business minded design firm with a knack for bringing out the unique personality and generating revenue for our clients. My focus in business has always been on developing long-term relationships with clients and vendors who share some of my core values. Lately I’ve found myself stepping outside of the role of designer and stepping into the role of marketing strategist, business consultant and overall “idea guy.”

Growing up in a family print and design business, I like to say that being an entrepreneur was bred into me. I’m not sure I could survive a ‘regular’ 9-5 Job.

Recently I’ve had some requests for personal coaching, specifically in the areas of organization and business planning for creatives. I’m not sure where this will lead, but if it’s something that interests you, feel free to drop me a line. I’m also booked for a few speaking gig’s this year which is something I really enjoy and can see myself doing more of.

On a personal note, I’m originally from Montana, but I’ve spent most of my life in Orange County. At 21, I married my first and only girlfriend and we have enjoyed 13 years of marriage (and counting!). We have two beautiful sons and live less than a mile from the studio. I enjoy a very nice walk to work in the mornings.

My hobbies of late include road cycling, reading, cooking, backpacking and playing Tinkertoys with the kids. Now you know a little about me, what about you?
